Sasha Paulsen grew up in Napa and graduated from Napa High. She studied English lit at UC Berkeley and St. Mary’s College and after a brief, eventful career in politics, she returned to Cal to earn a Masters degree in journalism. She lived in London, Paris, Munich and Boston before returning to Napa in 1999 to raise her two children. Since then, she has worked as features editor at the Napa Valley Register and written two novels, “Where Time Begins” and “Dancing on the Spider’s Web.” Her son, now a doctor, and her daughter, a linguist specializing in Welsh, both also graduated from Napa High.
Lori Narlock loves a good story. She’s spent her life collecting and telling good stories. As a cook, she’s told stories via more than a dozen food- and wine-focused books, including the Cakebread Cellars Cookbook, Summer Smoothies, Super Burgers, and the Big Ranch Farms. As a writer, she’s used storytelling to win the pitch contest at the 2013 Napa Valley Film Festival (in a field of 10, many of whom were seasoned filmmakers); write a blog about her family cabin, and finish a novel that will be published in early 2018. Follow her on Instagram @lorinarlock for an almost daily story of what I’m eating, drinking and reading.
